Bishops Waltham Parish Fishing Club

Water in South pond at its highest for many years and work continues on the eel pass

Work continues on the Eel pass and it should be finished by the end of April

Beechcroft, who are building the eel pass, have said it should be complete by the end of April after which the pathway will be reinstated. So by the time you read this it may be finished. However Station Road will remain closed to through traffic as it is deemed unsafe with all the construction deliveries. They do seem open to proposals about parking at weekends so hopefully it should become possible to park there while fishing.

Fishing slow but a couple of good Carp

Not much this month. Fishing has been very slow. The pond water level is still very high with a lot of fishing swims under water. "Prof" has caught a couple of good carp up to 9lb. Once the eel pass is complete it may be possible to get back to more regular fishing. The Cormorants still seem to doing well.

May and June activities

The match calendar, suspended earlier last year until further notice, is still abandoned.

These are suspended until Station Road reopens. See the club's website www.bwpfc.org.uk for the latest information. Work parties will be critical to complete the work that was agreed with the Environment Agency. The AGM will be held in April - dates and further information will follow on the club website.
